How’s “America’s Finest City” Celebrating 4th of July?

On the 4th of July, San Diego will be hosting events throughout the city that are fun for the whole family. Whether you prefer a day spent at the theme parks or relaxing on the beach, there is fun to be had for visitors and locals!


One thing you definitely don’t want to miss is Fireworks! San Diego will be hosting their annual “Big Bay Boom”! Fun Fact about this Firework show is that it is the largest display on the West Coast. Four different barges will launch fireworks on the San Diego Bay. The locations of this spectacular show consist of the following: Shelter Island, North Embarcadero, Marina District, and the Coronado Ferry Landing. Plan to arrive early, bring your lawn chairs, friends, family, and your celebratory attitude! The Fireworks will start at 9PM and admission is free! What a wonderful way to celebrate the 4

Coronado Independence Day Parade

Taking a trip to the Theme Parks? San Diego’s Legoland and Sea
World will be hosting Independence Day celebrations to end your fun filled day! Legoland California will be presenting “Red, White, and Boom”, which is their exciting firework display timed to patriotic music! The Legoland fireworks start at 8:30pm and SeaWorld San Diego will celebrate with firework show set to a musical soundtrack beginning at 9:40pm. The events at these theme parks require the purchase of
admission tickets to the theme parks.

Headed to the beach? Ocean Beach is a great place to spend the day under the sun, relaxing with friends! After a day on the beautiful beach, enjoy watching the fireworks display off of the Pier starting at 9pm. Another place to spend the day is on Coronado Island! It will be hosting a variety events including a morning Independence Day Parade, Concert in the Park, Fireworks over Glorietta Bay, and much more!

Historic Old Town Fourth of July

 

Feeling more traditional? If you’re looking for an 1800s style, more traditional 4th of July celebration, make your way to Old Town Historic Park for a parade, wagon rides, contests, and more fun for the whole family!
